We will pick you up at hotel in city center area and go to Aytthaya. It’s about 80km from Bangkok.
Ayutthaya was the capital of the ancient Kingdom of Ayutthaya from 1351 to 1767. Ayutthaya had periods to be meeting destination with many trading activities to all over the world. In the eighteenth century, Ayutthaya was destroyed almost entirely in the Siamese – Burma war. However, today visitors still see the magnificent image of the once prosperous palace in Southeast Asia.
With nickname is the land of golden pagoda, Thailand is the one of largest Buddhist countries in the world with more than 95% of the Buddhist population. It is also understandable that there are about 40,000 temples operating in this country.
You will go to the first temple for this tour, Wat Phu Khao Thong (Golden Mount) was built in 1387. To stand at the top of the temple, you have to climb 344 steps of spiral staircase. On the way up, you will see many bells with different sizes.
Wat Lokaya Sutha is a temple located at Ayutthaya Historical Park, in the city of Ayutthaya. The temple is located on a large area surrounded by 3 rivers: Chao Phraya, Khlong Khu Mueang, and Khlong Tho canal. Next to the temple, there are two other monuments, Wat Worapoh and Wat Worachettharam. It is famous for Giant reclining Buddha statue with 8m high and 30m long.
You will visit another temple is Wat Mahathat. It is aslo in Ayutthaya Historical Park. Wat Mahathat was the heart and soul of Ayutthaya people.
Moreover, there is a beautiful, gentle Buddha face that brings a feeling of peace to everyone. According to legend, there were people who brought the head of a destroyed Buddha statue and put it in a tree. Then, the roots embraced Buddha's face which becomes a signature of this place. You can find images on the Internet easily.
You will enjoy the lunch in local restaurant and take a rest before continuing the tour.
Move to the next point, Viharn Phra Mongkol Bopit. The temple of Wihan Phra Mong, one of the temples with Thailand's largest golden Buddha, is 12.5m high but was badly damaged by fire in 1700 by the Burmese army. The statue was restored in the 20th century.
For the last destination, you will go to Summer Palace. It lies 18km south of Ayutthaya city. The palace is surrounded by a large lake that creates a wonderful setting as well as a natural air-conditioner for this area. Discover about Summer Palace, you will be surprised by the harmonious architectural style between the East and the West in the architecture of this place. That ceremony is also the reason why this place is frequently used by kings as a resting place for royalty.
Finishing exploring place is time to get in the car and return to the capital. Tour ends!
