At 8.00 am, we pick you up at your hotel in Chiang Mai. We begin our day at the photogenic Wat Tung Luang and warm up our legs riding along tranquil canals with views across the beautiful forest scenery that is in abundance here. Two magnificent village temples frame our route before we start climbing up. We will ride passing small farming villages, through a natural bamboo tunnel and will soon reach a remote elephant camp. Thanks to the elephants for blazing the trail, we’ll have an exhilarating 10km of sensational single track that rises and falls, leading to some great views of the valley and mountain panorama. We have another 7km of fire trails, jeep paths and single track through this remote countryside before we hit the road again for our descent to the river. Now is time for a break and lunch. You will have the chance to taste some specialties from northern Thailand as we relax on the banks of Mae Tang River.
In the afternoon, we get back onto our bikes and head up and over a short, but tough, climb to the road that will slowly lead us back down to the river valley. You may want to slow down so you don’t miss a crystal clean waterfall and in case there are elephants on the road. Our secret trail finally emerges from the trees and we pass through several small villages to lastly reach the end of our ride. We pack up our bikes for the return by support vehicle Chiang Mai, a journey of around 35 minutes. End trip at your hotel approximately at 4.00 pm.
