After meeting our tour guide will welcome you at the meeting point, you will go to the ferry to move to Cam Kim island. With this trip, you will have the opportunity to explore Cam Kim island by bike with total distance of this tour is about 10km.
Cam Kim island has been existed more than 500 years. Come here, you will be listened a lot about Kim Bong carpentry village, a traditional village with rich culture. In the past, many local people chose boat building as a main job. You will hear easily sounds of saws. You will visit boat building workshop. Fishery is a main occupation in Hoi An and fishermen love their fishing boats. Boatbuilding is a traditional occupation from 15th century here in Kim Bong carpentry village. Firstly, let's see how they make the boats with their skillful hands.
After that we are going to Huynh Ri carpentry workshop Kim Bong carpentry village has been famous for its skillful carpenters with various stuffs made from wood: furniture, religious statues, finely crafted wooden doors, wooden toys and so on. You will see how people here make these beautiful stuffs by hands.
Next, you will learn to make traditional rice paper. This is an indispensable ingredient for many typical and delicious dishes. If you like Vietnamese spring rolls, summer rolls, rice crackers, you shall learn how to make rice paper back home. Rice paper is the main ingredients for those dishes. You will see the process of making rice paper: rice grinding, boiling, stretching and drying. Making traditional rice paper is a main job of many families there.
We will have fun and joy moments at a preschool. Kids are cute and lovely everywhere. Let’s stop by a preschool and see how local kids here love seeing foreigners and love being photographed though the only word they know is “Hello”. We will have some fun games to connect with the adorable kids. What an experience! If you take the tour on Sunday, you won’t visit preschool as it closes at the weekend. instead of, you will visit a local temple. Stroll around the temple, observe its architecture and listen to stories from friendly tour guide. You will find peaceful in the village with many idyllic landscapes with fields and buffalos.
Time for lunch! We will have lunch at local place. The real taste of Quang noodle from the local village is great experience after long ride. Then, visit homemade rice wine House. Let's Mot! Hai! Ba! Do! (One! Two! Three! Drink!)! Vietnamese rice wine is so special. Are you curious how to make rice wine in Vietnam? You will learn how to make wine from rice in a Vietnamese way. Most rice wine is made in small home distilleries using either normal or sticky rice. The white rice is first cooked and mashed, then water and yeast are added before the mixture is left to ferment. The resulting broth is eventually distilled to produce alcohol.
