There are many considarable destinations in the north of Vietnam. Besides Sapa, Ha Giang, etc, Cao Bang province also owns beautiful sights. One of them are Ban Gioc Waterfall, one of Vietnam’s best-known waterfalls. The falls, fed by the Quay Son River that marks the border with China, is an impressive sight and in a highly scenic location. Scattered around Ban Gioc waterfall in an unexpected neat pattern, the rock platforms have separated the water masses into many currents like silver threads. This tour will take you from the vast lakes and chalky karsts of Ba Be National Park to the wild and rugged landscapes of Cao Bang to visit the spectacular Ban Gioc waterfall.
Day 1: Hanoi - Lang Son - Quang Uyen (L, D)
7.30 - 8.00: Pick you up at hotels in Old Quarter area then transfer to Lang Son province for starting the tour.
10.00: We will move in 3 hours on the bus. The further you move away from the center of the city, the more you will see changes in the scenery along the road. You will see rice fileds and small villages of countryside. Then you will stop at Chi Lang. This place played an important role in Vietnamese war in the past. It liked a giant wall protecting the country from enemies.
You will have 1 hour to walk around and explore the area around the Quy Mon Quan Gate. Listen to stories from tour guide, you will learn more about the tough historical period of Vietnam.
12.00 - 12.30: Have lunch at a local restaurant in Dong Dang.
13.30 - 14.00: In the afternoon, you will visit Mother’s Temple and Dong Khe. There had the Dong Khe battle at the end of 1950.
Enjoy dinner and overnight at homestay of Nung ethnic people in Quang Uyen.
Free time at night.
Day 2: Cao Bang - Ban Gioc Waterfall - Ba Be Lake (B, L, D)
7.30: Enjoy breakfast which is served at homestay.
You will transfer to Phuoc Sen village and meet the local people, Nung ethnic minority. This mountainous village is famous for its traditional blacksmith craft.
Near the village is Ban Gioc waterfall. The waterfall are half in Vietnam and half in China. The falls are 30 metres high and 300 metres across, making Ban Gioc the widest waterfall in Vietnam.
You will probably be overwhelmed by its grandeur. Let’s take advantage of this moment and capture all of those landscapes by your camera!
Next, you will head over to Nguom Ngao Cave (Tiger Cave). According to legend, the cave used to be home to many tigers, so it is also known as the Tiger Cave. This cave has length of 2144m, next to Ban Gioc waterfall. It was discovered in 1921 and from 1996, it opened for tourism. Go inside the cave, you will see many jaw-dropping caverns filled with delicate formations of stalactites in many different shapes. When light shines on, you will see glitter particles on the stalactites. It is like a gift that Mother Nature gave to Cao Bang province.
Return to Cao Bang town and head down the snake pass to Ba Be Lake.

Day 3: Ba Be Lake - Hanoi (B, L)
7.30: Wake up early and having breakfast at homestay. Start the last day in Ba Be Lake – Ban Gioc tour. Transfer to the boat station.
Spend your time on the boat to discover Ba Be Lake. You can be relaxed on the boat while observing stunning landscapes of lake. The boat will follow Nang river’s flow. You can see the views of mountains and big trees. Next, you will the caves of Puong Grotto. There are thousands of stalactites and stalagmite which was a result from changes of the terrain over the years.
Stop for lunch at a local restaurant
You will get bus and depart to Hanoi. On the way, you will have a stop at some hills tea plant. Take your time to breathe fresh air before returning to Hanoi.
18.00: Arrive at Hanoi. Drop you off at your departure point. Finish unforgettable tour!
