The cost of each trip will depend on the different travel schedules. You should check whether the car equips air conditioning or not.
Taxi (white taxi)
It is a very popular transportation in Cebu. It operates 24/24 and is often easily caught at restaurants, shopping centers, tourist destinations…. The taxi fare is 40 pesos, and every 300 meters (or 2-minute wait) will increase to 3.5 pesos.
When you board the vehicle, remind the driver to turn on the meter and speak (or write) the location clearly to them. Unless the distance is too far or you already know the road conditions, you can pay the full price.
You can use the Grab Taxi or Easy Taxi to book an online taxi for evenings or difficult places.
Phone numbers of some taxi companies:
Ken Taxi – 032 419 4143
Spider Taxi – 032 254 4335
Holiday Taxi – 032 345 1623
Cebu Airport Taxi (airport taxi – yellow taxi):
This is the official taxi of the airport. Yellow taxis are only given and picked up at the airport, not on the road. Therefore, the price of taxi gold is higher than white taxi prices and less selective. The taxi fare is 70 pesos.
Jeepney is the most popular public transport in Cebu. The car is similar to the bus but depending on the different drivers. Jeepney has no stop over so you can get off anywhere on the road. The cost of each trip is usually 7 pesos, except for long distances of 14-15 pesos.
This is a refurbished motorbike for carrying more people. Habal-habal is used on rough, steep and small routes, as the jeepney and tricycle can not run. The cost of habal-habal is 20 pesos / person.
Habal-habal has two forms:
+ Motorbikes with long seats that protrude behind the wheel: it will carry up to 4 people including a driver with a baby.
+ Vehicles with wooden planks are placed in the back seat to create seating for passengers. The car can carry 13 people and also luggage such as vegetables, food and animals.
Tricycle is also a popular public vehicle in Cebu, designed with motorcycles attached to the iron frame, wheels to carry more passengers (about 7 guests without a driver). This is a form of home automation. In the remote markets of Cebu, you will find it easier to find a tricycle than a taxi. Tricycle operates 24/24.
The price for a tricycle trip is only 8 pesos per person. When you do not want to go on a tricycle along a given route, you can pay for a separate car for travel, priced from 50 pesos or more depending on how far you are going.
Similar to the Tricycle, but does not use motorcycles that use bicycles. Vehicles can carry only 2-3 passengers. Trisikad prices range from 5 pesos to 10 pesos and visitors often use it to see the street rather than to move around.
